This Day Is Holy
9 And Nehemiah, who was the governor, and Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all the people, “This day is holy to the Lord your God; do not mourn or weep.” For all the people wept as they heard the words of the Law. 10 Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
It's Pastor Aaron and welcome to your daily walk. Man, after two long years, we have finished the gospel of Luke together as a church family. So good to see Jesus uh risen from the grave uh in victory, see him speaking to the apostles, giving the marching orders of the great commission, and ascending onto the right hand of the Father in Luke chapter 24. I want to remind you of the disciples' response. It says that they were praising God and walking in joy and always blessing God in the temple. That's that point we made that every Christian, when we consider everything Christ has done and is doing in our lives, joy should be automatic. It should be the natural response in our lives, just like breathing in and out. We don't have to think about it. We just we walk in joy, and it got us uh looking forward to the book of Nehemiah, which will start next week. And this is what Nehemiah says to the people when they're weeping out of out of sorrow, and I think even some joyful tears of being so grateful to have the law again after Ezra reads it. I want to read you our daily walk verse in Nehemiah chapter 8, verse 9 through 10. And Nehemiah, who is the governor, and Ezra, the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people, said to all the people, This day is holy to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep for all that the people wept as they heard the words of the law. Then he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat and drink sweet wine, and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready. For this day is holy to our Lord, and do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. I hope in your life today, this week, the joy of the Lord is your strength. That you consider everything that God has done for you, and your natural auto response would be to walk in joy. Church family, I can't wait to worship with you once again. God bless you. I love you. I'll see you soon.
