10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
This is Pastor Aaron and welcome to your daily walk. This past week we had so much to celebrate our graduating seniors. We had a baptism at 11 o'clock as well. We're just praising God for that. We also had a wonderful sermon by Pastor Matt Bowles. He pastors a Villa Road Baptist Church just uh outside of Waxahatchie, Texas. And his message came from 1 Timothy 4, really uh zeroing in on this idea that um physical training is of some value, but spiritual training is of value in every way, right? It's good to train for a sport, it's good to train for um a physical endeavor, but it's best to train for Jesus, it's best to be disciplined in the Lord and to zero in and hone in on our time in the word and our time praying, our time discipling our kids. That was his biggest point. Was mom and dad, have we sacrificed spiritual training so that our kids might excel in a physical world for some sport or some achievement that they're after? That takes us really to the context of that passage in 1 Timothy 4 10. That's your that's your daily walk verse today. Verse 10 says this for to this end we toil and strive because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the savior of all people, especially of those who believe. My challenge for us this week is the thing that we most set our mind on, the thing that we're most passionate about, or the thing that we spend the most time investing in, is it grounded and founded on the hope that we have in Jesus? Right? If it's loving your wife, let that be grounded in the hope that you have in Jesus. If it's training up your kid, let that be grounded in spiritual things. Of course, there's all kinds of other things to teach our kids, but there are spiritual disciplines at the heart. If it's your work and on the job, are you grounded and set in my hope is in Jesus? So this changes the way that I'm going to conduct business in the marketplace. Whatever it is, ask yourself the question is the hope that I have in Jesus the foundation for the things that I put my hand to? Church family, I hope you're encouraged. I cannot wait to worship with you again. God bless you. I love you. See you soon.
