6 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him.

This is Pastor Aaron and welcome to your daily walk. I have loved preaching slowly through Philippians chapter 1. There's so much encouragement for us there. And I say yesterday we got a same encouragement from this one verse that I think means so much to so many believers. To live is Christ and to die is gain. We were reminded that our lives must count for Jesus, and we have a sense of longing and hopeful expectation that once our life is over, we'll be face to face with him. And so we're really faced with a choice. Are we living fully for him now? And are we trusting in eternity for the future, or are we living for ourselves now and forgetting the future that we have in front of us? Our daily walk verse is very similar to that one in Philippians chapter 1, verse 21, to live is Christ and to die as gain. It's found in 2 Corinthians chapter 5, and it's verse 6 through 9. It says this. Yes, we are of good courage, and we'd rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. Very similar to that verse. If I'm gonna live, it's gonna be for the glory of Jesus. If I'm gonna die, it's gonna be for my gain. I'd rather be with Christ, but if I have breath in my lungs, I'm gonna live for him. Simple question. What's one thing you can do this week to better live for Christ? What's one thing you can do this week to better live to please him? Living for his honor and his glory. Church family, it's been great. Can't wait to worship all together. One big service, 10 30, starting August 23rd. I love you. God bless you. I can't wait to worship with you again.
